Absolutely! If your child has an allergy (food or other), we will sit down and talk about how we can support you, and them, in providing a safe environment.
Our cooks tailor make meals and are experts at creating great meals that cater for our children’s varying needs.
Yes. All of our regular staff members and teachers hold current first aid certificates.
We use a play-based curriculum to help teach your child the skills they need to succeed when they start at school.
We focus on the dispositions that set a child up for lifelong learning (e.g. problem solving, perseverance, resilience, curiosity, social and emotional intelligence). We also incorporate early literacy and numeracy into our programme along with practical skills like looking after your own gear, using scissors, and learning to recognise and write their own name.
We include short, fun and engaging mat-times in our programme. These also help children learn to sit and work together in a larger (school like) group environment. Through these times they grow in confidence to listen, ask and answer questions, follow instructions, and wait their turn — just like they would in a school setting.
No. Small Fries is open to, and welcomes all families.
Values that align with our faith (e.g. love, joy, peace, kindness, goodness) run throughout our daily programme.
In a more structured way, we say grace (karakia) before each meal, thanking God for our food. We also run a Bible mat time where Bible stories, songs, games and values are linked to our current interests and themes.
Our faith programme is delivered in a fun, non-threatening way suitable for all children and families.
